Monthly Meeting

What time is the Monthly Member Meeting?
The Monthly Member Meeting is held on the first Monday of every month.  Dinner is served from 6-7PM and is followed by the Business Meeting from 7-8PM.  We encourage everyone to come and enjoy dinner and fellowship with our members.

Is the meeting mandatory?
The Monthly Member Meeting is not mandatory, however all members are encouraged to attend so that they might lend their voice and vote to the operations of the post as well as enjoy fellowship with their fellow post members.

Who comes to dinner?
Anyone may attend the dinner held before each post meeting.

Why come to dinner?
Dinner is a great opportunity to enjoy fellowship with post members as well as learn about different opportunities available to veterans in our area.

How much does dinner cost?
Dinner is free, however donations are encouraged.

How do I pay for dinner?
Dinner envelopes are available at the post and the donations jar is located at the front of the dinner service line.

What do you do at the meetings?
During meetings, Post members discuss the business of the post (both new and unfinished).  Members also have the opportunity to bring forward any issues that may effect the Post or the members of the Post.

Why should I come to the meeting?
All members are encouraged to attend so that they might lend their voice and vote to the operations of the Post as well as enjoy fellowship with their fellow Post members.

Can I bring a guest?
Guests are welcome at the dinner before Post meetings, however if they are not already or plan on becoming a VFW member, they are not permitted to remain during the meeting.

What is Buddy Poppy?
The VFW Buddy Poppy program provides compensation to the veterans who assemble the poppies, provides financial assistance in maintaining state and national veterans’ rehabilitation and service programs and partially supports the VFW National Home for Children.  All monies raised through the distribution of Buddy Poppies are donated to other veterans organizations with no proceeds going to the Post.

4th of July

To march in the July 4 parade, what do I need to bring?
If you are marching in the 4th of July Parade, you will need to wear gray slacks, black shoes, the VFW Post 8469 Polo and your VFW cover.  Water is provided to marchers in the staging area.
